I created this graph by using Gabriel Furman's data from Volume 2. page 49. It represents an accurate rapid growth of Brooklyn at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. Furman does not state his decision for recording the census dating from 1786-1820, but my best guess is that 1786 was the year the census was taken for the first time in Brooklyn, and 1820 being the last census taken during that time. In addition, Furman neither mentions his interest for recording the census. However, I believe that he saw the immense growth in population with much intrigue, since it doubled in the turn of the century. Below, I also managed to include a picture of the actual data in Furman's hand writing.
